- Open up a Web browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox
- Type the FTP site address in your browser’s address window and click Enter
- You will be prompted to enter a username and password. Enter this information and either Click ‘Login’ or click Enter
- If the information has been entered correctly, you are now on the site. To send a file or a folder, simply use your mouse to drag and drop the file/folder into the FTP site window. You can also copy & paste the files into the correct folder on the FTP site.

What Is FTP?
FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is the simplest and most secure way to send job files to The Color Spot. An FTP site is like a large, password-protected filing cabinet. With a traditional filing cabinet, the person who does the filing has the option to label and organize the files however they see fit. It is the same with a FTP site; you can place a single file in the ‘cabinet’ or place a new folder containing multiple files.
To use FTP, all you need is a Web Browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox, an FTP address looks a lot like a Web address, except it uses the prefix ftp:// instead of http://.
